Extended Bio Profile:
I Have been married for 8 Years to my husband John and if it wouldn't be for him coming into my life that I wouldn't have accomplished so much in my life and be where I am today. I have 2 Girls. Biolanda is 14 and was Diagnosed with Marfan Syndrome at the age of 5. She has had 4 Back Surgeries and is doing OK as of this date. Angelina is 3 and is starting PRE- BALLET classes with Diane Remy School of Dance. She listens very well and is a fast learner, thanks to her sister being in Diane's classes also. I have 2 sister's Michelle & Karen. Karen is a single mother of her little boy Treyvon and has had lots of diffuculty with medical bills & Prescriptions for her son who suffers from extreme asthma. She works hard but all her money has gone for his medications, which she even had maxed out her credit cards. I help her as much as possible, but not many people know how it's like to take care of a child with no support system. I'm very proud of her. I also have 3 brother's. Gary, Brian, and Wally. Both my Parent's are alive. My Mother Mary had suffered a stroke Christmas Day, and my Father Gary Sr. has been helping take care of her. I had taught myself from the day I bought this business on how to do everything from the cash register w/out manuals to Taxes, Company Contacts Etc. I has been such a great experience for me. I would like to thank both my parents, Husband, Children, My niece Cassandra Canales (Who works for me on Saturdays), My very special freind Vicki McDermott that has been there for me when I needed her to take over the store during my surgeries, My Foster Mother Sandy Sullivan who gives me inspiration, and My Mother in Law Virgina Culver. I grew up in a poor lifestyle and all of these people help make me what I am today. Being a retail owner I have appreciated the elderly, their stories, their pains, and grew to love each one of them. Sometimes they come in every couple of days just to see me. It's Great. Before becoming a retail owner and wholesale distributer I was a Certified Nurse Assistant working in a azheimer facility which caused a back injury and retired that in 1999. I went back part-time to in home Care and injured my low back again and have bursitis in my hip/leg. The Company I work for, there Dr. says it didn't happen at work so now I have to fight it. I will not go back as a CNA due to the pain I feel and the recovery process. Life is too short and Iv'e suffered enough, and want to live my life to the fullest. I believe in helping others who are less fortunate. We adopt a family every year at Christmas, Donate our time & Items to Diane Remy School of Dance, Two Left Paws (adoption of animals who have been abandaned or cannot take care of any longer. They have a foster care program for animals. People donate their time and take in the animals and give them the love & attention they need till someone adoptes them instead of going to the Human Society or being put to sleep. If anyone would like more info on how to donate to this cause or sponser a scholarship program for lesser Privelage children who would love to study dance with Diane Remy School of Dance on Scholarship, please let me know and I can send the appropriate materials. Also with my daughter having Marfan Syndrome I am asking others to read and check into what Marfan Syndrome is and put in a Donation in my daughters name through the Marfan Foundation. Biolanda Garcia. The money goes to further treatments and studys.
