He became involved in his profession after coming to the U.S. in 1993 with a legal background. He took the necessary paralegal courses that would enable him to work in the field.

Mr. Werake is a former associate professor of history at the University of Peradeniya in Sri Lanka. He is a co-editor of “Security Dilemma of a Small State: Internal Crisis and External Intervention in Sri Lanka.”
