He became involved in his profession because he wanted to join the U.S. Navy to make an honest living. He eventually moved on to the U.S. Army because he was able to take his family along with him.

Mr. Plunkett retired from the U.S. Army in 1964. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years and traveled to most places in the world including Iraq in 1944.
