She became involved in her profession because she was working as a director of safety and health with an ANP at a high risk manufacturing facility and, upon finding that a high number of injuries occurred there, she took some OSHA courses and then filled in for someone who was out on maternity leave in the hospitality industry; this process led her into the insurance industry.
