Mrs. Carlton’s ability to stay updated with the latest trends in the nursing field, teach home patients about their medications and duties, and taking care of their grounds if applicable and the importance of taking medication and diets as ordered separate her from her peers.
What has been the most outstanding thing you have done thus far in your career?:
Mrs. Carlton’s greatest career achievements were learning how to perform dialysis, how to set up a unit by ordering all of the equipment, getting the first dialysis center opened up in the area so patients wouldn't have to travel a long distance for their treatments, teaching nurses and technicians how to perform dialysis treatments, and patients and their families becoming a part of her life.

Mrs. Carlton knew at age 12 that she wanted to be a nurse and worked toward that goal. Her mother was not a nurse, but she seemed to take care of all the family, friends, and neighbors when they were sick and she was an inspiration to her. She had a family friend who was a nurse and encouraged her. She loved her and always wanted to hear of her experiences in the nursing field.
