She became involved in her profession because she started teaching at the age of 19 in France and knew that she would become a writer.
Extended Bio Profile:
Dr. Maggiolo taught at an elementary school in France for 19 years. After World War II, she married an American officer and came to the United States. She taught in American public and private schools for 30 years. Her Ph.D. thesis is entitled 'The Myth of the Earth in Colette's Novels' and she also published a thesis titled 'No Such Word a Love Story.' She recently retired as a high school classroom teacher and serves as an adjunct faculty member at a local community college. She has been a teacher, administrator and mother of high school children. She is fluent in French, English, Spanish, Italian and German.
