He attributes his success to having to face challenges while serving in the U.S. Marines Corp. He also credits his time at Merck & Co., where he worked in operations. His ability to transfer those skills to the very different field of human resources helped to set him up for change and success.
Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
He became involved in his profession after starting out in production at Merck & Co., and attaining the position of lead supervisor. He then moved into the human resources field and with his MBA and operations management background, he brought in operational expertise from the client perspective and added business savvy.

In his 21 years working within human resources, his career has been marked by championing professional development, motivating achievement, and successfully mitigating risks. Mike is recognized for developing innovative strategies, meeting aggressive deadlines, and adding value to both human resource and business units. Mr. Fix is a proven change agent and able strategist who thrives on opportunities to establish and promote human resources as a viable, integral business partner. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1977 to 1980 as an artillery/battery executive officer - first lieutenant. He was deployed to Norway twice.
