She attributes her success to her education, hard work, being in the right place at the right time, personal champions, and passion for leading others in worthwhile endeavors.
Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She became involved in her profession because she developed an interest in the health care industry while she was in college, where she studied chemistry and biology with the goal of working in the medical field. She explored the business side of health care during her postgraduate studies, and when the opportunity to blend her two interests arose in 1996, she eagerly accepted a position with Healthcare Communications Group, a small medical education company. From that time on, Ms. Coogle's passion for working with a team that produces excellent programs for clinicians — programs that strengthen their skills and improve patient outcomes — has flourished.
Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Coogle has more than 22 years of experience in the communications and medical education industry. She joined Clinical Care Options in September 2003 as the director of program management and finance. She was promoted to vice president of operations in June 2004, to senior vice president of operations in September 2005, to chief operating officer in December 2007, and to president and chief operating officer in September 2009. In 2006, CCO was publicly recognized as a leader in specialty medical education by its clients and peers. Prior to joining CCO, Ms. Coogle was an assistant director for continuing medical education (CME) activities at WebMD, the largest Internet-based medical education company today. Before its acquisition by WebMD, she served as the CME manager for Medscape and Medicalogic, playing a key role in developing Medscape's CME program, establishing the policies and procedures for the program, and spearheading Medscape's successful application for accreditation by the ACCME. Ms. Coogle also worked for two very successful startup companies in the health care industry and served in the U.S. Air Force for four years, supporting its basic research laboratories.
