The highlights of her career are helping first-time buyers find their homes and her relationship with two clients she first met several years ago when they were looking for a rental home to share with several other young Marines. Since that time, they have married, purchased their first home, and had a beautiful baby. Ms. Blackmon was pleased to meet the young mother's parents, who thanked her and her husband for being part of their life. She feels like she has a grandchild herself.

She became involved in her profession when a friend of hers was opening a new firm and she was hired to help.

Ms. Blackmon has received numerous awards and commendations throughout her government and real estate careers. As a Realtor, she was the top producer and top recruiter for the company for six years. Ms. Blackmon joined the U.S. Army in 1986 and served for two years as a communication specialist (E4). She is also currently employed by the government as an employee relations specialist. She has worked for more than 20 years providing guidance and advice regarding employee benefits and performance appraisals. She met her husband in the military and they have one daughter.
