She became involved in her profession because her busy mother was a teacher, a pianist, and a drummer; so as a child, she was mainly in the care of her father, who was a rancher. He took her with him daily and taught her how to take care of the land and the livestock.

Ms. Richens' cattle are all raised organically. She is also a distributor of Nikken Magnet products. The magnets are in her family's medicine box and used for sleep, a healing aid for injuries, headaches, and sore muscles. Her son Robby was in a major car accident, and for more than one year, he was unable to sleep through the night. After using the Nikken mattress, he was finally able to sleep through the night without any issues.
