Mr. Aerts served as a first sergeant in the 144th Evacuation Hospital and 625th First Military Police Company, He served in the Army for a total of 24 years. and retired in 1999. He had been stationed in Saudi Arabia, Panama, the US Virgin Islands after Hurricane Hugo, and stateside. He has worked in the mental health field for 43 years starting in 1965.
