Dr. Iskander is an assistant editor and authored the second edition of prevention and management of LASIK complications in 2000. He is the author of second edition of the American Academy of Ophthalmology monograph 7 and is an assistant technical editor of Refractive Surgery. He is a third-generation ophthalmologist who has performed more than 12,000 laser vision correction, cataract, and eyelid procedures. He has extensive experience in LASIK vision correction, advanced cataract extraction procedures and anterior segment reconstruction techniques. He has received numerous honors and awards for his contributions to the science of ophthalmology. He has authored a book chapter and co-authored a textbook on LASIK surgery. He has been published ophthalmology-related articles in the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and other leading medical publications, and is frequently invited to speak at professional conferences and medical schools.
