What Does He/She Attribute Success To:
She attributes her success to her perseverance and determination. She grew up in a middle-class family where her father worked as a pipefitter in the automotive industry; during uncertain times, she learned to be strong and never give up on her dreams. At a young age she also watched her mother return to college to get a 4-year degree as a nurse while taking care of four young children. Both of her parents worked hard every day of their lives, and they taught her the value of working hard.
Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She began working full-time at the age of fifteen on the shop floor of a factory building robotic cables for F-16 fighter planes while in high school. People on the floor were unhappy because management did not communicate with them and conditions were not always great. During this time she realized there was a need for better communication between the front line and management. At the time she did not know about a career called human resources; however, she was fortunate enough to know someone who brought her into an organization that needed temporary help in this area. This is where she found her calling and her passion. She was determined to find a way to be an employee advocate, but one that understood the needs of a business, and how to communicate between front line and management so that people would understand not just what management did, but why the decisions were being made that drove a business. Ms. Krause says that even from the age of 5 she always worked to bring people together, and that human resources has been a perfect career for her.
