I taught at Shannon Junior High for 7 years I was an elementary school counselor for 17 years. During that time I time I was a part-time marriage & family therapist. I own my own private practice for the last 14 years.

I am highly motivated to complete challenges in my life .
What has been the most outstanding thing you have done thus far in your career?:
My greatest accomplishment is my long years of marriage to my wonderful husband . Most do not think of marriage in that way but in today's world is an achievement.
How would you like to be remembered by your peers?:
I would like to be remembered as someone who fulfilled my commitments with smile on my face and a postive attitude for all.
If you could solve one problem in the world today, what would it be?:
I would want the couples of the world to mend their marriages and save their children from so much pain.Family relationships is so very important in our happiness.
If you could have lunch with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and why?:
I would want to spend thar time with our son , Jeff. He left us at the age of 45 and there is so much I would want to share with him about my love and faith in him.

The practice of marriage and family therapy has been so significant in my life. I feel the decline of the family has so much to do with the decline of America.I want to be apart of restoring God and his principles about the family.

What Does He/She Attribute Success To:
She attributes her success to her faith in God and to her mother who was very driven, an ERA lady who ran for public office in 1932 who encouraged her throughout her life.I have had several mentors in my life.Eula Harkey in high school , very active in FHA. Loyce Hagens PhD ,Professor at Texas A&M in Marriage andFamily therapy.Also to her husband, who supports her 100 percent, and to her sister Elaine, who is in a wheelchair from a car accident; she has always been a positive support in her life.
Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She became involved in her profession because she was a school teacher for seven years (1970-1977), and during that time she saw that kids needed someone to talk to, and felt she could make a difference in their lives.

Mrs. Roberts key accomplishments revolve around marriage and family. She is 77 years old, the mother of four adult children, seven grandchildren, and married for 58 years. She is the caretaker of her husband, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's.
