She attributes her success to her dedication, love for educating children and the support she receives from her friends, family and colleagues.
Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She became involved in her profession after she took an introduction to education class in college and had the opportunity to work, bond and spend time with children as an educator.
Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Camper has been teaching in the same school for 33 years. Her daughter teaches music to students in Kindergarten through fifth grade classrooms in North Carolina. Her husband worked in the field of juvenile corrections in Virginia. She founded a nonprofit agency as a decision to help local women who have substance abuse problems. As a teacher, she sees that women are the main caregivers for the family. She recognizes that the only way to break the cycle for the children she teaches is to start with the family and help women learn new life skills, as well as help the families begin to find and relate to God. She feels compelled to help these children and their families, as she believes they suffer from neglect and face a possible future of drug addiction themselves and as a result, may have behavioral, emotional and learning problems.
