She attributes her success to her supportive family including her parents, husband, daughters, son-in law, sisters, brother and grandchildren.
Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She became involved in her profession because she developed a love for learning when she was inspired by her uncle who was a principal.
Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Famestad took an early retirement from Laura B Anderson Elementary School in Sioux Falls two years ago. She taught students in first, second and third grade and has been a foster parent for 25 to 28 special needs children during her 28-year tenure. She also tutors the children of the principal of Oscar Howe Elementary School. Ms. Famestad is indebted to her late father Jim and her mother Joan for raising her to be strong. She is also grateful to her husband of 38 years, Rodger, her daughters Angie and Nicole, and her son-in-law John Cummings. She is also appreciative of her siblings Georgia, Nancy and Mark and her grandchildren Ainsley, Riley and Raina.
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Tutoring in All Subjects including Mathematics, Science and Social Studies for First-Grade Students through Adults, Supervising Students and Student Teachers
