He became involved in his profession through the influence of his grandfather, who was the mayor of Walterboro for 26 years.
Extended Bio Profile:
Mr. Sweat was the mayor of Walterboro from 2005 to 2009 until a major head injury put him into a coma, forcing an early retirement from office. Prior to this, he has opened Sweat Pontiac-Buick-GMC-Implement Inc. with his father and brother in 1970. He is also a former dealer in the lawn and garden business for the John Deere company.
