She attributes her success to hard work, perseverance, her goal-oriented nature and the support she receives from her family.
Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She became involved in her profession through her experience working at a pharmaceutical company and her desire to better understand the diseases that affect women around the world in order to give them the chance to have a better quality of life.
Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Baez was awarded a fellowship from the National Institutes of Health for the “The Role of LOX and LOXL1 in the Pathophysiology of Endometriosis.” It has allowed her to investigate how endometriosis develops, and it will help her to understand the disease. Hopefully these studies will allow women with endometriosis and infertility to receive better treatment, and maybe help find a cure for the disease. Working in the field of reproduction, and more closely in women's health, makes Ms. Baez very proud to be able to contribute to the new advances and treatments that are emerging for the different diseases that affect women.

Managing the laboratory; Conducting experiments and data analysis; Training students; Attending discussions with physicians, pharmacologists and biochemists; Correlating the best laboratory tests and results to assist physicians
