He attributes his success to communication. Statistics is a field where nonstatisticians must be consulted most of the time. He conveys ideas well. He has had experience interacting with many people in varied disciplines, including chemists, biologists, data managers, clinical research associates, statisticians, programmers, regulatory specialists, medical writers, clinical scientists, pharmacokineticists, toxicologists, lab scientists, MD medical monitors and many scientific executives and managers.
Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
He became involved in his profession because he was interested in statistics in college and worked with a professor at the Museum of Natural History, looking at migration patterns and changes in distinct species. He liked the decision process and sees the value of it. When working with science fair students and other scientists, he sees a lack of the decision process.

Dr. Cosmatos published a book on translational medicine (TM), which is becoming increasingly important in the health care industry as a means of maximizing the consideration and use of information collected.
