She became involved in her profession because of her grandfather was physician and surgeon who taught at Temple School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pa. Her grandmother was was also a licensed practical nurse.

Ms. Lenard has been an hospital infection preventionist from 1975 to 1994, an adjunct facility member at Widener University in Chester, PA from 1993 to 2002, and consulted for nursing homes, hospice centers, clinical laboratories and long-term care facilities since 1985.
