Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Mason is the first woman to serve as a superintendent in Oklahoma City and also the first woman to serve as a superintendent of the Gary Schools in Indiana. Her school puts on an annual church presentation during Black history month to educate students and the community. She previously worked as a banker for nine years and taught in a classroom for five years. She retired from public school in 1995.
