He became involved in his profession because of his passion for working with wildlife and desire to share his knowledge with children.
Extended Bio Profile:
Mr. Behrendt is a paleontologist, educator, writer, researcher, and medical scientist. He has held various positions, including medical laboratory scientist, shift supervisor and field biologist. He was an instructor for the Ohio Division of Wildlife and wrote curriculum that is currently being taught in Ohio's public schools. He passed the Praxis II Life Science Exam with honors to acquire a teaching license for the state of Ohio and earned a master’s degree with a GPA of 4.0. He has done field studies on fish and bird populations with the Ohio Division of Wildlife United States Fish and Wildlife Service, and the United States Department of Agriculture. He has also set a record in the state of Ohio by collecting orange spotted sunfish. He also organized field trips for students to the Ohio State University's Stone Laboratory on Gibraltar Island. Mr. Behrendt writes articles for Fossil News magazine.
