Mrs. Rex graduated from the University of the Philippines with a bachelor of science in pharmacy. After taking the pharmacy board, she became a registered pharmacist. I
n 1984, she came to the United States on vacation accompanied by her father. They stayed with her brother who was then living in Mansfield, Ohio. She met her husband at a party right after arriving at Hopkins Airport. Her husband called three days later and visited her in Mansfield. They were married on January 16th, 1985 in Parma, Ohio.
Mrs. Rex validated her foreign degree in the United States by taking the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Examination given by the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination in Chicago. Following this, she took an internship at Mt. Sinai Hospital for the required 1500 hours. She passed the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy examination in 1996.
Mrs. Rex believes that God has a different plan for each individual and she believes in following that plan to the best of her efforts.
Throughout the duration of your career, what was the one highlight that stood out the most?:
The most gratifying aspect of Ms. Rex's career is that she is 72 years old and there is no mandatory retirement at her company, CVS.
