Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She became involved in her profession while working as a nurses aid in the HIV unit during her registered nurse training she fell in love with the care of those living with HIV/AIDS, she loves the challenge of the complexity of the medical management and the psychosocial aspects of caring for this population and believes in treating the whole person, not only the disease.
Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Gabree served as an adjunct professor and clinical instructor for the registered nurse program at Maria College and the licensed practical nurse program at Capital Region Board of Cooperative Educational Services. She is extremely active with the local HIV community, where she works with fellow HIV/AIDS nurses in an effort to improve HIV-related education opportunities for local healthcare workers. She has held positions of leadership in the Capital District Chapter of the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care that provides four annual dinner lectures on HIV-related topics. She has served on the ANAC board of directors for over eight years. She speaks for the Gilead HIV Sciences Community Speakers Bureau to provide HIV education to patient groups, case managers and community based organizations.
