He attributes his success to his determination, love and faith.
Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
He became involved in his profession because he is a 15-year military veteran. He overcame cancer, and he wanted to give back by helping other veterans. His father, who was also in the military, was an evangelist, and Mr. Ferguson learned about the spirit of healing from an early age. He started working with music because it is in his blood; he has worked on both national and local stages with the likes of David Bowie, George Benson and Chaka Khan.
Extended Bio Profile:
At the age of 12, Mr. Ferguson picked up the guitar and taught himself to play by listening attentively and adroitly emulating the musical mastery of such greats as Al Di Meola, Carlos Santana, George Benson and Wes Montgomery. Mr. Ferguson later explored the principles of the keyboard and subsequently developed the techniques, melodies and rhythms that produce the unique sound of SEQUENCE. Using a keyboard, a MIDI guitar, synthesizers and an analog guitar, he creates digital orchestrations that reveal the genuine soul of his musical compositions. His many accomplishments to date include producing music for the Harris Corporation’s DTV television; developing and implementing entertainment programs while in the Armed Forces; touring Germany with his six-piece band, FFB; performing for the United Nations League of Women; and producing music for television commercials that have been aired on all major networks in the United States and throughout the Caribbean. In 1998, Mr. Ferguson produced music for ALIX Toys, an interactive CD-ROM catalog. He has also played lead guitar for the Platters, and has opened for great acts such as Ray Goodman and Brown, Blue Magic, Roy Ayers, Onaje Allen Gumbs, Najee, and Manhat­tan Transfer. He has performed at such renowned establishments as the Minority Golf Association of America, The Apollo Theater, the Manhattan Center, Indigo Blues, and Sweetwaters in New York. He has both arranged and performed music for UJAAMA, Titus Walker’s Theater Company in New York City. In addition, Mr. Ferguson played for the Bose Factory Corporation using the company’s latest home theater system, Lifestyle 30. He has also been privileged to play at Madison Square Garden. Performing as a one-man orchestra, he was among the featured entertainers at the June 1996 Black Comedy Awards. With Guru, he scored the soundtrack for the 1996 movie “Girls Town.” His musical expertise earned him the coveted position of musical director for GBTV’s “Culture Share,” a popular show that broadcasts in New York, London, Grenada and other islands of the Caribbean. Mr. Ferguson’s technical knowledge enabled him to become the president of a computer software and Web publishing company. Also, he gained great discipline and determination as a black belt in Shotokan karate under the tutelage of Mr. Errol Bennett. He has personally raised more than $20,000 for CUNY.
