Mr. Yang does pro bono work for the bar association for low-income clients. He was one of the lead counselors representing Chinese slave labor against a Japanese company, the story of which was printed in The New York Times in October of 2000. The case garnered much publicity and fame for the plaintiff before going to the district court in San Francisco and the Supreme Court, though its outcome was negative.
