Extended Bio Profile:
Prof. Eid enjoys sociology because it is the study of human social action and how people organize, bind and separate themselves as individuals and members of associations, groups, communities and institutions. She is a distinguished translator with the United Nations as well as a published scholar. She received high distinctions from every school she attended and received a medal of recognition for her career as a professor. She is currently in the process of applying the final touches to a pre-publication textbook of English and Arabic translation, which she hopes will be used at institutions of higher learning that offer translation courses. Prof. Eid has also translated for Readers Digest and published several books such as 'Sociology of Mass Communication,’ 'Teaching Journalistic English,’ ‘Communication Policies in Lebanon' and 'Introductory Sociology.’ All of the books are in Arabic except for ‘Teaching Journalistic English,’ which was published in English.
