Mr. Martín served in the U.S. Army, where he received a medical discharge in 1970. He is fluent in English and Spanish and would like to learn Chinese and Arabic. He has pledged to work hard to ensure that both Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis and Los Alamos National Laboratories remain fully functional and also to support the national health policy, improve the educational system in New Mexico, develop a strong economy and protect all who have contracted illnesses and sustained injuries while sacrificing their lives for their nation.
