She attributes her success to her hard work and the support she receives from her husband.
Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She became involved in her profession because of the experience she gained while working with her husband in developing model programs to improve the areas of economics, transportation, environment and the community for the Army Corps of Engineers. Her husband wanted to create a temporary position for her at the University of Oklahoma so his department could continue to receive Army Corps grants. As immigrants, for the first 10 years they were unsure of how to operate a business in the United States, but through trial and error they were successful.

Dr. Liew has taught research, economics, business statistics, operations management and management science in universities and business colleges for more than 10 years. She has also published articles and papers on several topics.
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Conducting research with two professors for program proposals; Writing proposals to government agencies regarding dynamic multiregional variable input-output modeling, integrated dynamic multiregional variable input-output modeling that integrates economics, transportation, environmental pollution and the community impacts of public and private investment spending effects
Where Will You Be In 5 Years:
In five years, Dr. Liew would like to receive a multi-year government grant to produce a web-based interactive MRVIO model software without pushing her competitors out of the industry. She would like to compete on a fair and legal playing field, under the motto, "Treat others as you wish to be treated."
