Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
He became involved in his profession after working for most of his career as an operations manager; his first volunteer position with the Boy Scouts of America was as a committeeman for his son's Scout troop, and his commitment has strengthened over the years.
Extended Bio Profile:
Mr. Goldfarb has directed his concern and talents to many areas of volunteer work, and his involvement with the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) has spanned over 50 years. He was a charter member of Troop 13 in Newark, N.J., and became its first patrol leader. As an adult, Mr. Goldfarb has held many leadership positions with the BSA; he currently serves on the executive board of the Jersey Shore Council. He also serves as the coordinator for the exploring and learning for life program, district commissioner and chairman of local and regional Jewish committees for scouting, adviser to numerous Explorer posts, chairman of district membership and training committees, member of the Northeast region camp inspection team, and member of the Catholic committee on scouting. In addition, Mr. Goldfarb has been an integral member of the planning committee for many specialized camporees and special events.
