She became involved in her profession because of the inspiration she received from a missionary doctor.
Extended Bio Profile:
Dr. Walk has long been committed to healing and teaching the word of God. She hosts a weekly radio show that is heard in 180 countries, and has served as a physician in third world countries, including Nigeria and Bangladesh. Dr. Walk did volunteer relief work in Nigeria during the Nigerian-Biafran war, from 1969 to 1970, and was the director of a new hospital that opened in Nigeria in 1999. In 1996, she was given an Ibo name meaning “She who helps all those in need.” In 2004, Dr. Walk built an orphanage in Malawi. She has also established new churches in Africa and Russia, developed a rural health program in Bangladesh, and built nursing homes for the elderly in Bangladesh and Nigeria. She has published her poetry with Cambridge of England and is currently working on her third book, an autobiography titled “Beyond Abundance.” Her writing is written under her pen name, Kathy A. Bliese. She is the medical director and practice administrator for Employer's Health Care Center in Grand Island. Dr. Walk is planning to travel to Pakistan to teach women and men to work together.
