She became involved in her profession after seeing her sister recover through extensive therapy.
Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Wedman was a dedicated physical therapist for 40 years at a school for children with disabilities. She consulted for two different nursing homes during summer breaks. Her duties included performing evaluations and consultations, writing programs, and teaching aides how to fulfill those programs at the state hospital. She also worked with outpatient toddlers who were too young to attend the school. Ms. Wedman learned to monitor and make adjustments on industry-specific equipment, and to train in power mobility. She has many stories and memories from her years at the school, and feels fortunate to have ongoing contact with a number of the clients she worked with. Ms. Wedman has seen many go on to have happy lives. In addition, she raised four children, all of whom graduated from college, and has 12 grandchildren ranging in age from 4 to 22.
