What do you feel separates you from the rest of the professionals in your industry?:
Ms. Leazer feels that there is nothing that separates her from her peers in the teaching field, and that she is merely a part of the whole. She quotes the Bible from the Book of Luke Chapter 12 Verse 48: " ... for unto whomever much is given, of him shall be much required..." she feels she has been given a good deal, and thusly begins her never ending cycle; the more that is given to her, the more she feels she must give.
What has been the most outstanding thing you have done thus far in your career?:
Ms. Leazer’s greatest career achievement thus far has dealt with the healthcare of the Bessemer City community, and later, the Gaston County area. In 1990, there were students who direly needed medical care, but there was no affordable treatment available within the community until a group of concerned individuals joined Ms. Leazer, founded The Advocates for Healthy Citizens, created a network of medical personnel and established a site. They provided the people of Bessemer City with the needed care. Later, Ms. Leazer joined the executive board of Gaston Family Health Services to help filter services and medications into Bessemer City for the residents.
Expanded Biography:
Ms. Leazer was selected as the healthy Carolinian by Governor Mike Easley in 2001. She also serves as an assistant at the fine arts department, which includes chorus, band, art and drama.
Throughout the duration of your career, what was the one highlight that stood out the most?:
The highlight of her career was being able to support her pupils during an extremely difficult and traumatic time; she lost three of her in an automobile accident.

She attributes her success to the support she received from her parents. Her father was in the Army, and her parents firmly believed in the motto, "Be all you can be."
