She became involved in her profession when she realized that her sister, Christine, and mom, Madeline, were not be able to find classic styles. She saw that there was a need for her design services.

DressByDeign, Inc., was founded in 2005 by Ms. Vacanti, and her sister and mother. They have been recognized by People magazine, Style Watch and Reader. Ms. Vacanti is passionate about this line of work and enjoys the opportunity to work with her daughter, sister and mother. She is a master seamstress from Columbia, and has more than 30 years of experience. She spent 12 of these years in New York City, working as a sample maker and pattern creator. She volunteers her free time as a teacher.

Designing dresses; Choosing fabrics and the design of necklines, sleeves and dress length; Managing the store in Buffalo and an Internet-based shop; Consulting; Assisting in sewing; Helping women decide which styles look best; Creating quality skirts, tops, jackets and shawls
