Ms. Whitfield served the Guilford County Health Department for 10 years. She is now retired from the college, and travels around the state working and providing further education for nursing agencies. She holds classes for groups of up to 1,800 people. She and five other ladies also started a group called the Golden Girls, through which they cook for the homeless once monthly.
