The highlight of her career was the successful adoption of two Chinese boys with special needs that she fostered in her home in China. Another highlight was volunteering her time and expertise in Thailand serving families with children who have special physical, emotional or perceptual learning disabilities that limit their potential.

Assisted in the Development of a Special Needs Program at an International School in Thailand for Children of Volunteer Workers throughout S.E. Asia (2003-2010); Humanitarian Aid to Orphan Children in N.E. China (1998-2000)

She attributes her success to her faith in God and following his direction.
Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She became involved in her profession through her life experiences with children, and her interest in disorders and disabilities. She followed her interests through with formal education.
Extended Bio Profile:
The birth of her second child was pivotal to her destiny. Her son was born with special needs and a serious heart condition and died at three months. She had two other children born with special and psychological needs after that. This made her reach out to other special needs families internationally, including handicapped orphans in China. Her own special needs children went on to become successful in college and their careers. She leaned on God for support during these times. Her meaningful life quotes to live by are: Micah 6:8 “He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” and “We don’t grow by knowing all of the answers, but rather, by living with the questions.”
