She became involved in her profession because veterinarians noticed that she did not leash her dogs when they came in and they were well-behaved; she was asked to help their clients.
Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Overfield is a workshop presenter, instructor and dog trainer who is able to help animals that others have found unadoptable. She published a book called, "Saturday Dogs ... and the Owners they Trained." It's about training methods for owners and features true stories of dogs and their problems; each chapter presents a situation and exactly how she walked a dog through a method with that particular behavioral foundation block. She publishes a monthly subscription newsletter, Psych-O Analysis, dealing with dog psychology and behavior. She has more than 40 years of experience as a behavioral trainer. She takes methods used by top handlers for working dogs around the world and modifies them for pets.

Instructing dog owners, shelters, rescues and fosters on behavioral training; Consulting privately; Proceeding with proper behavioral methods; Ensuring the social identity of the dog within the family; Creating a happy relationship between the owner and the dog; Going into shelters to help in training; Speaking for pet groups and veterinary groups across the U.S; Making herself available to talk about and answer questions about dogs
