Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She became involved in her profession through her longtime desire to work with people and provide services, as well as counsel on drugs and alcohol.
Extended Bio Profile:
Dr. Idleburg was previously a professor of sociology at Alcorn State University for four years and then worked at the Mississippi Division of Medicaid as a bureau director for three years. She then directed the department of social work at Mississippi Valley State University for four years before returning to Alcorn State University. She was also the director of the department of health and human services for the National Eldercare Institute. Top Female Professional With over 37 years in her profession Dr. Idleburg attributes her success to hard work, determination great mentors, teamwork with her male colleagues and God. To the younger generation of women entering the workforce Dr. Idleburg advises to always be willing to take risks when needed, look at every situation objectively and learn from your mistakes. Dr. Idleburg belongs to a number of organizations that have made a difference in her profession, the Association of Addiction Professionals, National Association of Social Workers, Gerontological Society of America, The National Caucus & Center on the Black Aged and the National Council of Negro Women
