Her father was an artist so she developed an interest in art as a child. She decided to pursue art as a career after graduating from high school.

Marilyn has illustratrated five books: DRESS UP DOG AND THE DOG SHOW, THE STATION, GIRLS CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN, GIFTS OF THE HEART and THE CHRISTMAS PONY. Other works include: Pen and ink drawings for three dimensional figures - Dept. 56; reproduction of original illustrations used for brochures and posters in England and Florida; Ecolab's Christmas news magazine, distributed worldwide.
