The highlight of her career has been helping low-income families remain in public housing when one of the members in the household has had a lease infraction that could cost them their home. Working with these individual families gives her great satisfaction because she is not only giving them the tools they need to succeed, but also making a difference in their lives today.

What Does He/She Attribute Success To:
She attributes her success to growing up in a family with no education, which gave her the strength she needed to work hard, become educated, and achieve her goals.
Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She became involved in her profession after gaining experience as a paralegal and sustaining an injury from a car accident that left her bedridden for three years. During that time, she started managing her boyfriend's property transactions, and as she got stronger through intensive physical therapy, she started attending tenants' grievance hearings.
Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Rogers has been running low-income housing for more than 10 years. She also volunteers her time with the elderly, bringing them to doctor's appointments and running their errands. She buys and delivers Thanksgiving Day packages for less-fortunate families on that holiday, and also buys gifts for children at Christmas. In addition, she acts as a role model for girls who want to go on to college and be like her.
