Mr. Bekman enters his fourth decade of practice as one of the most respected trial attorneys in the state of Maryland. He is a tenacious and successful advocate for his clients' interests, as demonstrated by the significant number of multi-million dollar awards he has won. The effectiveness of his practice is confirmed year after year by peer professionals. Best Lawyers in America has recognized him as one of the top personal injury lawyers in the country since 1989, and locally, Baltimore Magazine has recognized him similarly on multiple occasions.

As well as his two partners, Mr. Bekman is a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, a distinguished honor achieved by less than 1% of the nation's lawyers. In 1997-1998, he served as President of the Maryland State Bar Association the only plaintiff's attorney ever to hold that position for the 19,000-member organization. In 2007, he was recognized as the 2nd highest vote getter in Maryland's SuperLawyers.

Mr. Bekman enthusiastically shares his expertise with other lawyers and students of the law through bar leadership positions, as a longstanding member of the MICPEL faculty, and most recently, as Chair of the University of Maryland School of Law Board of Visitors.
