Ms. Mabry was featured in 'Maryland Life Magazine' for a special cookie recipe. She also appeared in 'Allegany Magazine,' along with her culinary team, for winning the 2008 Allegany County Food Bank's Chefs of Steel. She competed on the home team with five of her colleagues in the Chefs of Steel competition to aid the fight to end hunger. All proceeds from ticket sales went to the Allegany County Food Bank. Ms. Mabry's marketing area is geared toward the typical working family, single working mothers' groups and anyone interested in learning basic or intricate culinary preparation. Ms. Mabry taught a few continuing education classes at a local community college. One very special lady attended the dinners to desserts class with her husband. The woman emailed Ms. Mabry about a week later, telling her how the recipes that she had given to her and walked her through made the biggest difference in her after work routine. She was able to prepare dinner and put in on the table in under 30 minutes, with less clean up and much less stress. Knowing that a recipe she formulated took away daily stress for her makes Ms. Mabry feel like she’s accomplished something. She believes that it's all about making things quick and simple. Recently, she has taken a look at her community and realized that there are a lot of single parents in need. To help them, she chose to focus on holding classes to teach parents quick, easy and effective recipes to whip up for dinner for their families. She takes pride is seeing people enjoy her food. Food is the most universal language in any culture, the food may be different but the smiles are all the same. Her greatest influence was always her grandmother. She would sit down with her and hear about how her Italian mother would make marinara sauce from the freshest tomatoes, breads that were to die for, pastas from scratch, pastries, cakes and pies. After hearing about ‘Nana’ and seeing the few recipes that she left behind, Ms. Mabry decided that what she wanted to do was make people happy through food.
