Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
He became involved in his profession after originally pursuing studies in rheumatology and completing his residency at two separate facilities. One hospital was more science-oriented than the other and exposed him to a different type of experience and healthcare professionals. After three years, he made the decision to pursue atherosclerosis at Harvard and was then requested to go to Framingham by the National Institutes of Health.
Extended Bio Profile:
Dr. Castelli has been very active in the Framingham Heart Study since 1965, he was recruited into the study as the director of the laboratory for 14 years. He separated the blood to identify the different types of cholesterol and coined the phrase 'good and bad cholesterol' in a 1978 interview with the Reader's Digest. He also lectures, runs a clinic, and works with the National Institute on Aging.

Adding the Most Important Lipid Predictor that Out-Predicts Total High Density Lipoprotein, Low Density Lipoprotein, Cholesterol and Triglycerides when Dividing Total Cholesterol by High-Density Lipoproteins, Going to Clinic Two Days Per Week, Traveling to Lectures
