He became involved in his profession at an early age, as he helped his father, who was a general contractor for snow removal in the winter. When he was a senior at Roger Williams University in 2004, he put together a business plan, and he and his father started this business.

In five years, Mr. Herzog plans to take over the business and step away from the activities in the field and provide as a supervisory role, where he would delegate work to a crew in the field. He also plans to grow the landscaping side of the business for the alternate seasons, to give work to his crew full-time.
