Expanded Biography:
Ms. Lambert believes that one of the most rewarding points in her career surrounded the coordination and execution of a an entire wedding ceremony in one day. At 9am one morning she learned that a terminally ill Cambodian male patient wanted to marry his girlfriend of 20 years. With the help of their multi-disciplinary team of nurses, social workers, nursing aids, physical occupational therapists, office staff and patient advocates all pulling together, they were able to have a wedding ceremony at 4pm the same day. The tasks that needed to be completed included a marriage license from City Hall and a court order to waive the waiting period, flowers for the bride, a justice of the peace, 2 witnesses, preparing a meal for two, a happy, alert, but medicated groom with an interpreter, guests and plenty of tissues for all. An event like this certainly helps to keep life and the important things in the right balance.
