She became involved in her profession after being promotoed from a payroll/benefits coordinator to material analyst at Western Electric, which was the initial introduction to the purchasing and sourcing profession.

Ms. Royer-Twomey is a procurement professional. Recently she was laid off from Thermo Fisher Scientific, where she was a buyer and planner for five years.

Ms. Royer-Twomey had a lifelong passion for education and the desire to learn. To support this, she never lost sight of pursuing higher education and while employed, sought this goal as a single parent. This educational pursuit was both personally and professionally rewarding, and has had a significant impact on her world perspective. Her view was no longer face-value, it was enhanced by skills that she was thus honored to have access to and with; thus, a desire to share enthusiasm and courage. Her aspiration was and is to help people and students of all abilities believe in themselves and to be the best that they can be. Ms. Royer-Twomey believes that each person has unique qualities and by supporting students, peers and reports during her career, it brought out the best in her.
