Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She became involved in her profession because she has always wanted to work as a nurse. As a child, she watched her grandfather struggle with cancer, and she decided that she wanted go into health care and help others.
Extended Bio Profile:
Dr. Lipinski is a nurse practitioner with a doctorate, and has been in the field of health care for 31 years. She runs her own business, N and N Emergency Training, which she started 31 years ago. In the past, she was an emergency room nurse and a nurse practitioner with the Trover Foundation for four years. She has also been involved in cardiac and trauma work, as well as retail; she worked in urgent care clinics with Minute Clinic. At The University of Alabama at Birmingham, Dr. Lipinski completed a scholarly project on obesity.
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
1) Assisting with pre- and postoperative bariatric surgeries; Managing patients and their files; Discussing post-care and education with patients; Working with three surgeons; Scheduling aftercare for patients; Precepting for nursing students 2) Instructing; Working with two employees; Scheduling; Hiring; Following the American Heart Association curriculum; Training employees; Conducting training on CPR for day care centers; Offering education on blood-borne pathogens; Marketing through the Internet, fliers and word-of-mouth
