Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Harrod came directly out of college to write at the Orlando Sentinel Star. However, her career has taken her through teaching and serving as director of the office of former First Lady of Kentucky, Judi Patton. She also served as Executive Mansions Director. Ms. Harrod is a Red Cross volunteer who provided aid during the Katrina disaster. She spends time with Downtown Frankfort, Inc., an organization focused on the revitalization of the downtown Frankfort area. She was awarded by the Kentucky Press Association with first place honors for a news feature on the experiences of young African-Americans going through desegregation locally as elementary students.
