He became involved in his profession after making a discovery at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, which led to his interest in bone pathology.
Extended Bio Profile:
Dr. Anderson is a pathologist with extensive research experience in bone development, and bone and cartilage structure and ultrastructure. He is best known for his discovery of submicroscopic extracellular nanoparticles and matrix vesicles (MVs) that initiate biomineralization. He grew up sailing during the summers on Lake Michigan, and has continued to be a sailor for 33 years.

Lecturing; Overseeing laboratories in pathology for second-year medical students; Managing a research program in bone development, calcification and bone disease, which led to the discovery of calcification-initiating matrix vesicles
