Extended Bio Profile:
Dr. Perinpanayagam wrote a book titled 'A Child is Being Beaten,' about the psychodynamics of adolescents. He is currently writing another book, tentatively titled 'Dossier of Review of an Adolescent Unit.' Dr. Perinpanayagam worked and trained in formal psychiatry for seven years before he underwent psychoanalytical training. He completed training in psychoanalysis at the Institute of Psychoanalysis and withdrew from the theoretical training when he was appointed as consultant in adolescent psychiatry and medical director of the Regional Adolescent Unit for the Northeast Thames Region in 1975. He set up the first adolescent unit in the region, which ran successfully for 10 years. He was also a boxing champion at two universities.
